Integrated Design Services National Institute Of Design is tucked into H 3 Sulabh Flats. It is a bit of a modest setup for something associated with design, but it works for us. The office is located in one of the flats, so it has a very lived-in and practical feel. Instead of big open-plan studios, we have rooms filled with drafting tables, computers, and stacks of design books. We spend most of our time here working on various projects that require a lot of attention to detail. Being in Sulabh Flats means we are part of a regular residential community, so we see our neighbors every day when we come in. It isn’t a place with a shiny lobby or a security guard at a front desk. You just come to the flat and knock. The lighting inside is usually a bit bright because we need to see what we are drawing or designing. We don’t really talk much about being the best or having some grand vision. We just focus on the sketches and the digital models on our screens. Sometimes the space feels a bit cramped when we have a lot of materials out, but we make it work. It’s a quiet place for the most part, which helps when you need to think. We’ve been here for a while and have our own way of doing things that doesn't involve a lot of corporate rules.
