Indira Gandhi National Open University

This is the Indira Gandhi National Open University regional centre. Most people just call us IGNOU. We are located out in Chharodi, which is right across from the Nirma Institute. It’s a bit of a distance from the main city center, but it’s a large area so we have plenty of space here. You can’t really miss it if you are looking for the Nirma building because we are right on the opposite side. We handle a lot of paperwork and student queries throughout the week. There’s always someone coming in to ask about their course or to drop off some forms. The atmosphere is pretty busy, especially when exams are coming up or when the new semester starts. We have people of all ages coming here because that's how open learning works. It’s not like a regular college where everyone is the same age. You see people who are working and people who are retired too. The staff here just tries to keep everything moving. Chharodi is growing fast, but it still feels a bit quiet compared to the inner parts of the city. We have a few trees around the building which is nice for a bit of shade. It’s a practical place, focused on getting things done for the students who are studying from home. We spend our days sorting files and helping people figure out their next steps in their education.
