Idea Product Design Pvt Ltd is tucked away in Vejalpur, right at 50 Samang Row House. If you’re trying to find us, we are located behind the Alankar Apartments and just opposite the Auda Quarters. We are also quite close to the Salpara railway crossing, so we often hear the trains going by throughout the day. It’s a bit of a landmark for us. Working out of a row house feels a lot different than being in a high-rise office building. It’s more personal and a bit quieter, except for the trains, of course. We have converted the space into a functional area where we can focus on product design without too many distractions. There’s a small front area where we sometimes keep some of the prototypes we’ve been working on. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so it feels like a very grounded place to work. We don’t have a big sign outside or anything like that; we just have our name on the door. Inside, the rooms are filled with drawings and various bits of hardware. We spend our mornings going over technical specs and our afternoons trying to piece things together. It’s a practical way of working, and we like being in this part of Ahmedabad. It’s not as busy as the main commercial hubs, which suits us just fine. We just put in the hours and try to make sure our designs are solid before they leave this house.
