You will find us in Village Patti Dayal, which is under the Badlapur post in the Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh. It is a bit different from the big city branches. Things move a bit slower here, and we know almost everyone who walks through the door. It’s a rural setting, so we see a lot of farmers and people from the surrounding villages. They come in to deposit their earnings or talk about their loans. We spend a lot of time explaining things because not everyone is used to the digital stuff yet. The office is simple and practical for the village. We have our counters and some chairs for people to wait. It gets very dusty in the summer and muddy during the rains, but the branch stays busy. We are just a small team of Icici Bank staff trying to help the community with their money. There isn't any fancy decor here, just the essentials. We deal with the electricity cuts and the slow internet sometimes, but that’s just part of living in Jaunpur. People stop by to chat even when they don't have bank work. It’s a close-knit place and we feel like a part of the village life. We just do our daily work and go home. It is a quiet existence but we are happy to be working in Patti Dayal. The local people are very straightforward and we like that about being here.
