Hitesh

This is Hitesh’s place in Patan, North Gujarat. I am over at Panchodi Pado, which is near the Nilkanth Mahadev temple. If you know Gungadi Road, you can find me pretty easily. The temple is the main landmark around here. It’s an old part of town with narrow streets and lots of history. My work area is right here in the middle of it all. It’s a small room that I’ve set up for my daily work. There is always the sound of bells from the temple and people walking by. It gets quite crowded during festivals. I have been here for a while. The building is old but sturdy. I keep my things organized on a few shelves and a wooden table. It’s nothing like those modern offices in the city. Here, it’s more personal. People stop by to say hello while they are heading to the market or the temple. I usually have some tea ready for whoever drops in. Patan is a warm place, so I keep a big fan going all day. I handle my business from this spot, writing things down and keeping track of my daily chores. It’s just a normal day-to-day existence for me here on Gungadi Road. I like being near the Mahadev temple because it makes the environment feel peaceful even when the streets are busy with shoppers and cows. Sometimes the wind blows the dust in from the road, but a quick sweep clears it up. It is a humble spot but it belongs to me.
