Being located right opposite the Vastrapur railway crossing means we spend a lot of time listening to the trains go by. You get used to the sound after a week or two, and now we barely even notice it. Our place in Vejalpur is easy to find because of that landmark, which helps when people are trying to find us for the first time. The office itself is quite plain. We have some desks, a few chairs that have seen better days, and a lot of paperwork piled up on the side tables. It’s a local operation, so everyone knows each other’s business and we don't have those strict rules you find in big city companies. Gujarat summers are tough, so the air conditioner is usually running at full blast, even if it makes a bit of a rattling noise. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist in a suit. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just looks up and helps whoever walked in. It can get a bit dusty with all the construction nearby, but we try to keep the place tidy enough. Most days are just spent answering calls and organizing the files. It is just a regular workplace where we try to stay busy and get through the list of things to do before it's time to lock up and head home for dinner and rest.
