Green Feeds

Our office is up on the eighth floor of Tulip Citadel, in the B-wing, unit 801. We are right there in Ambawadi near Shreyas Tekra. It’s a decent building, though the elevator can be a bit slow when everyone is coming to work at the same time. Green Feeds is where we run the business of getting animal feed to where it needs to go. We aren't out in the fields ourselves, but we are on the phone with the farmers and the truck drivers all day long. Dealing with feed is a serious business because the cows and buffaloes need to eat regardless of the weather. We spend a lot of our time looking at grain prices and checking the quality of the soybean or maize mixes we are moving. It’s not a very exciting office, just some desks, computers, and files everywhere. Sometimes we have samples of the feed sitting in jars so we can show people what they are getting. We don't use any big corporate talk here. We just try to make sure the delivery arrives on time so the farmer doesn't run out. If a truck breaks down, we are the ones who have to figure out a backup plan. It’s mostly just a few of us making sure the logistics work. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a while and we like the local feel of Ambawadi. It’s a steady, quiet way to work.
