Ernst Young

We run the Ernst Young operations out of A 204 in the Prerna Shikhar Apartments, which is right on Judges Bungalow Road in the Bodakdev area of Ahmedabad. It is an apartment setup turned into an office, which gives it a bit of a different feel than a standard commercial building. The sun really hits this side of the building in the afternoon, so we keep the blinds down most of the time to stay cool during the summer. Being in Bodakdev means there is always something going on outside on the street, but once you get up to the second floor, it quietens down a little. We have our desks set up in the main rooms and a small space for tea and snacks in the corner. It is a simple arrangement that works for us. There are a lot of other offices and families in the building, so you see a mix of people in the elevators. We don't go for anything flashy here. The walls have some maps and calendars, and the desks are usually covered in various papers. It is a practical workspace where we can focus without too much noise from the main road. Getting here is easy enough since Judges Bungalow Road is a major landmark that everyone knows. We usually walk down to the local stalls for some lunch or a quick break to stretch our legs. It feels more like a lived-in space than a cold, empty office. Just a small group of us working through the day.
