Our office is in B 608 at Ganesh Plaza, which is right near the Navrangpura Post Office. It’s a pretty central location in Ahmedabad, so there’s always people moving around the market area below. We deal with card clothing here, which is basically for the textile industry. Being in a plaza means we are surrounded by other businesses, mostly traders and small offices. The lift in the building is sometimes slow, so we end up taking the stairs more often than we’d like. It’s a busy building. Inside, we have our desks and piles of catalogs and samples. It’s not a huge space, but it works for what we need. The noise from the street outside comes in through the windows, especially the honking from the Navrangpura traffic. We spend most of the day on the phone or handling the logistics of getting supplies out to the mills. Sometimes things get delayed because of transport issues, and we have to explain that to the buyers. It’s a lot of coordination. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything. It’s just us keeping track of the inventory and making sure the billing is correct. The post office nearby is handy for sending out documents. We’ve been in this spot for a few years and the locals around the market know us. It’s just a plain, honest business setup.
