You can find us at 16 Vasuma Hills in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Devi Multiplex is a place that really comes alive after the sun goes down. During the day, it is a bit quieter, with just the staff cleaning up the theaters and checking the projectors. We don't have a corporate office in some skyscraper; we are right here where the movies play. The smell of popcorn is pretty much stuck in our clothes at this point. It’s a lot of work managing the crowds, especially on Friday nights when a big film opens. We have to deal with broken seats, spilled sodas, and the occasional projector glitch that makes everyone complain. It isn't a glamorous job behind the scenes. We spend a lot of time worrying about the air conditioning and making sure the tickets are printed correctly. The area in Vastrapur is always busy, so parking is always a bit of a nightmare that we have to help manage on most evenings. We aren't trying to be the biggest cinema chain in the country. We just want to make sure that when someone from the neighborhood comes here, they get to see their movie without any trouble. We have some regular customers who have been coming here for years, and we know exactly which row they like to sit in. It’s a local business through and through, and we take pride in the fact that we can fix the screen ourselves when we have to.
