Darpana Academy Of Performing Arts is situated in Usmanpura Gam. We are right across from the Fortune Landmark Hotel on Ashram Road. It’s a busy part of Usmanpura, but our space feels a bit different once you step inside. We have areas for dance and music and other performances. It’s an older building with a lot of character. You can see the history in the floors and the way the light comes in. We don't have a lot of modern, polished surfaces. It’s more of a lived-in space where people are actually practicing and working. Ashram Road is always full of cars and noise, but we just focus on the arts. Sometimes you can hear the bells from the dancers or the sound of an instrument from another room. It’s a bit of a mixture of everything. The staff here aren't corporate types; we are just people who care about what we do. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team. We just open the doors and let the work speak for itself. People know us because we’ve been here for such a long time. It’s a simple, honest place for anyone interested in the arts.
