This is the Coir Board office, which falls under the Ministry of MSME. We are based in Bangalore, specifically at 51 1 on the first floor. The building is on 2nd Cross, Bazar Street in Vannarpet. You have to head towards Viveknagar Post to find us. Being on the first floor means we see a lot of the street action from the window. It is a government-run place, but it feels more like a local shop because of where we are. We work with coir, which is basically coconut fiber stuff. It is a very traditional material, and we are here to help people who make things out of it. The office is a bit old-fashioned. We have wooden desks and a lot of paper stacks everywhere. It is not a high-tech environment, but it serves the purpose. People come in to ask about schemes or how to get started with their own small business. We try to help them out as best as we can with the resources we have. Bazar Street is always loud and full of life, so there is never a dull moment. We are just a small part of the big government machine, but we focus on this one specific area. It is a bit cramped sometimes, but we make it work with the space we have got. There is always someone coming in to ask questions about coir products and how it all works.
