Npm Machinery Pvt. Ltd. is situated at Survey No. 252, right across from the IOCL petrol pump in Changodar. Being opposite the petrol pump is handy because everyone knows where that is. We build various types of machinery here, so the workshop is quite large to accommodate the big assemblies. It’s a tall building with plenty of overhead space for the cranes we use to move heavy parts around. Changodar is a major hub, so there are always trucks and workers moving about. Our day usually starts with the sound of the shutters going up. We have a lot of components lying around, from gears to motors and steel frames. It looks a bit chaotic to an outsider, but we know where everything is. The office is just a small section at the front where we keep the drawings and the paperwork. We spend most of our time out on the floor with the tools. It’s hot in the summer and the metal gets warm, but we just get on with it. We aren't interested in being a big corporate entity with shiny floors. We just want to make sure the machines we build work like they are supposed to. It’s a practical, no-nonsense environment where we value a good day's work and a finished project that runs smoothly. We keep a cooler of water in the corner for the guys because the shop gets quite warm by noon.
