Actuniv Words Worth Elt

You can find us over at Sharda Society in the Paldi area of Ahmedabad. It’s a nice enough neighborhood, mostly quiet compared to the main roads. We are at number 54 B. Our work is all about words and English language teaching, which is what the Actuniv Words Worth ELT name is about. We have a few rooms where we sit down with people and go over grammar or speaking skills. It’s not a fancy school with a big campus or anything like that. It’s more of a local place where people feel comfortable coming in to learn. The walls are covered with some charts and there are stacks of books everywhere you look. Ahmedabad gets really hot in the summer, so we have the fans going full blast most of the time. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here. We just like language and helping folks get a handle on it so they can do better in their own jobs or studies. Sometimes we have a lot of students at once and it gets a bit cramped, but everyone seems to get along fine. We’ve been in Paldi for a good bit now and we know the local chai wallah quite well. It’s just a small operation, really. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a shiny office, just a bunch of people who care about how words are used.
