A D Art School

A D Art School is located at Parshwa 3 in Mangalpark Society, just off New Vikas Gruh Road in Paldi. It’s a quiet spot which is good for what we do. We have students of all ages coming in to learn drawing and painting. The rooms are usually full of the smell of oil paints and charcoal. There are canvases leaned up against the walls and brushes soaking in jars of water. It’s definitely not a polished office environment; there are paint stains on the floor and sketches pinned up everywhere. We don't have a strict, rigid curriculum. Instead, we just show people how to use the materials and let them work on their own pieces. The teachers here are artists themselves, so they're often working on their own stuff when they aren't helping a student. We have some basic wooden easels and stools that have been around for years. On weekends, the place gets quite busy with school kids, while the weekdays are usually quieter with adults. We don't do any big advertising. People just see the sign or hear about us from their friends. It’s a simple, honest place to come and be creative without anyone judging you. We just keep the lights on and the supplies stocked so anyone can come in and start sketching. It's just a regular part of life here in this corner of Ahmedabad. Many of our students have been coming here for years.
