You can find A. B. Corporation on the 2nd floor of the New Cloth Market, at number 153. The market is always a bit of a chaotic place, especially during peak hours when everyone is moving fabric around. Being on the second floor gives us a little bit of a break from the noise on the ground, but not much. We’ve been in this unit for a long time. It’s filled with stacks of samples and ledgers. We don't have a fancy interior designer or anything. We just put shelves where they fit and desks where there was space left over. It’s a practical way to run things. The New Cloth Market has a specific smell of new textiles and old dust, and we’ve grown quite fond of it. Most of our day is spent talking to traders and making sure our orders are lined up. We don't use any high-tech systems, just old-fashioned record keeping and a lot of phone calls. It works for us. Sometimes the elevator in the building breaks down, and we have to carry everything up the stairs, which is quite a workout. We are just a group of people working hard in a traditional market setting. There are no corporate perks here, just the satisfaction of finishing a day’s work and heading home. We’ve built a lot of relationships in this market over the years. It’s a small community of traders and we all look out for one another.
