Vaani Cultural Society

We're tucked away in the basement of Shop No-6 in Sanjay Palace. It's in Block 21, right opposite the Nouva Hotel in Agra. Being in a basement means it's a bit quieter than the busy streets outside, which is good for what we do at Vaani Cultural Society. We aren't some massive institution with a huge budget. We are just a group of people interested in local culture and arts. Our space is modest, but it’s where all the planning and meetings happen. Sanjay Palace is a hub for a lot of activity, so we are right in the middle of everything. People who are into the cultural scene in Agra usually find their way down to us eventually. We don't put on airs or try to look more important than we are. It’s just a simple shop-turned-office. We spend our time organizing different programs and keeping the local traditions alive in our own small way. It can get a little cramped when we have a lot of people over, but we make it work. The location is convenient because the hotel is a great landmark for anyone who isn't familiar with Block 21. We’ve been in this basement for a while and it has become our little home for cultural activities. We don't have fancy brochures, we just talk to people who share our interests. It's more of a community effort than anything else, really. We enjoy being here.
