We operate out of E- 89 in the UPSIDC Site-C Sikandra Industrial Area. It’s a large industrial zone, so there are factories and warehouses everywhere you look. Panecea Footwear is just one of the many buildings along the road, and honestly, it looks like most of the others. We spend our days making shoes and making sure they are boxed up correctly. There’s a specific smell to this place—a mix of glue, rubber, and the dust that blows in from the yard. We have different sections for cutting, stitching, and assembly. It’s a lot of standing and moving around, so everyone wears comfortable clothes. The lighting isn't always the best, but we have lamps over the workstations so we can see what we are doing with the needles and soles. Outside E-89, the trucks are always backing in and out, which makes a lot of noise throughout the day. We don't have a showroom or anything fancy like that. If someone wants to see our footwear, they usually have to come right into the work area. It’s a bit messy at times with scraps of material on the floor, but that’s just how it is when you’re actually making things. We just keep our heads down and get the orders finished on time without any real drama.
