Roli Footwear

Roli Footwear is situated at No. 16/18 Kh in Susheel Nagar, right by the Yamuna Bridge. It’s a dusty part of town, especially with all the trucks passing by the bridge all day. Inside the shop, it’s mostly just boxes stacked up to the ceiling. We sell all kinds of shoes, from simple flip-flops to the more sturdy boots people need for work. It’s a bit cramped in here, and we often have to move three piles of boxes just to find the right size for someone. We don’t have fancy lighting or mirrors everywhere. People come in, try on a pair, walk around the little bit of floor space we have, and decide if they like them. It’s a very direct way of doing business. The owner is usually sitting near the door, and we’ve been here long enough that we recognize most of the people who walk past our shop every day. On hot days, we keep the shutters halfway down to keep the sun out. The work isn't complicated, but it keeps us on our feet and keeps us busy. We spend a lot of time dusting off the displays because the road outside kicks up so much dirt. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just open the doors in the morning and wait for people to come in. It’s a simple life running a shoe store in this part of town.
