Satya Shoes

Our shop, Satya Shoes, is tucked away at No. 58 / 293 F / 1 C in Shyam Nagar. It is right on V. I. P. Road, so the traffic never really stops. You get used to the sound of cars after a while. The shop itself is full of shoes, obviously. They are in boxes stacked up to the ceiling in some parts. It smells like new rubber and leather in here most of the time. We have a couple of benches where people can sit and try things on. Sometimes children run around and knock over the displays, which is a bit of a headache to fix. We spend a lot of the afternoon just dusting the shelves because the road brings in a lot of grit. The floor is a bit scuffed up from everyone walking on it. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. V. I. P. Road is a good place to be, even if it is noisy. When it rains, we have to make sure the water doesn't come in under the front door. We keep a spare mop in the corner just in case. It’s a simple setup. We come in, open the shutters, and stay until the evening. Sometimes we eat our lunch at the counter when it’s quiet. It is just a normal shoe place in Shyam Nagar that we have been running for some time.
