Shri Krishna Gupta Masale Wale

You can find us at No 19 in Paan Mandi, right near the Shahganj Chauraha. This place, Shri Krishna Gupta Masale Wale, has been around for a long time. My father was the one who really got things going here, and I just sort of took over when he got too tired to manage the daily grind. Paan Mandi is always a bit chaotic, with people moving around and carts blocking the way, but that’s just the atmosphere of Shahganj. Our shop isn't much to look at from the outside. It’s just a narrow front with sacks of spices piled up near the entrance. The air inside is always thick with the smell of ground pepper and cumin, which makes most visitors sneeze if they aren't used to it. We use these old grinding stones that have been here for decades. They make a lot of noise, but they still work fine for what we need. We don't spend money on fancy packaging or advertisements because the local people already know where we are. Dealing with the heat in the summer is the hardest part because the shop doesn't get much of a breeze. We just drink a lot of tea and keep going. It’s a messy job sometimes, with dust everywhere, but it’s what we know how to do. We don't try to be anything we aren't, just a local spice shop in a busy market.
