Shoecon Gramodhyog

Our place, Shoecon Gramodhyog, is located at 31/296 Bagichi Radha Ballabh on Collectorate Road. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say the whole address. We are tucked into a spot that's easy to miss if you aren't looking. The building is older, with thick walls. We don't have a lot of modern decor. It’s mostly wooden shelves that we built ourselves. We focus on a certain kind of work here, mostly traditional stuff and sturdy footwear. It’s quiet inside compared to the main road. I spend a lot of time at the back desk. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the inventory. The lighting is a bit dim in the corners. We use those long tube lights. People come here because they know we’ve been around for a long time. We don’t really use the internet for the shop. Word of mouth is usually how people find us. Collectorate Road gets busy with government traffic, so we see a lot of office workers. The shop feels a bit like stepping back in time. We keep everything in ledger books. There’s no fancy barcode scanner here. It’s just us and the shoes. We try to stay organized, but sometimes the back room gets a bit cluttered with leather scraps and old boxes. It’s just a honest, simple operation we’ve got going. Nothing more to it.
