Zeeko Shoe Factory

Zeeko Shoe Factory is located at 16/88 Sadar Bhatti on Sanganoor Road, specifically in the Ganapathy Ganesh Layout area. It is a factory, so the first thing you notice when you walk in is the smell of leather and glue. It’s a strong scent that sticks to your clothes even after you leave. We have machines running for most of the day, making a steady rhythm of thumping and whirring sounds. It’s not a place where you can have a quiet conversation easily. There are stacks of rubber soles and sheets of leather piled up against the walls. We have a small group of people who have been working these machines for years. They know exactly how to handle the materials. The floor is concrete and usually covered in small scraps of material that we sweep up at the end of the week. Sanganoor Road is a busy area for manufacturing, so we fit right in with the other shops and workshops nearby. It gets very hot in the afternoons, so we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze we can. We aren't making high-end designer shoes for fashion shows; we make practical footwear that people actually use. It is hard work, and the days are long, but there is a certain satisfaction in seeing a finished pair of shoes come off the line. It’s just what we do here in Ganapathy.
