Murphy Shoe Company

Our business, Murphy Shoe Company, is located right by Gate No. 1 of the Hing Ki Mandi shoe market. This area is famous for footwear, and it’s always packed with people, rickshaws, and stacks of cardboard boxes. If you come by in the morning, you’ll see everyone setting up their stalls and the energy is quite high. We’ve been operating out of this spot for many years. It’s a bit of an old building, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy with orders to worry about that. We handle a lot of different styles, and our main focus is just keeping enough stock for the local traders who stop by. It’s a noisy place with people shouting prices and bells ringing, but we’re used to it. We don't have a corporate office or a board of directors. It’s just us and a few workers who know the shoes inside out. We spend most of our time checking the stitching and making sure the soles are glued on right. It’s honest work. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use flashlights to find things in the back, but we make it work. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to sell good shoes at a price that makes sense for everyone involved. It’s a living, and we’ve been doing it for a long time now. We like the market life and the people we meet every day.
