Maniram Engineering

Our shop is down at 44 Rajeshwari Nagar, right along Udayampalayam Road in the Sowripalayam area. It’s an engineering place, so you can expect a bit of noise and the smell of metal and oil. We’ve been working out of this spot for a good number of years. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, but engineering isn’t meant to be tidy. We have our machines set up, and there’s always something that needs fixing or a part that needs to be turned on the lathe. The road outside can get pretty busy with trucks and bikes, especially during the shift changes at the nearby factories. We mostly deal with local clients who need specific work done. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to answer the phones with a script. Usually, someone just wipes their hands on a rag and picks up the call. It’s honest work. We take the drawings people bring us and try to make sense of them. Sometimes the measurements are a bit off, so we have to sit down and figure it out together. It’s a lot of practical problem-solving. We don't spend much on decor; the walls are mostly covered with calendars and old tools. People know where to find us if they need something made or repaired. We just keep our heads down and get the jobs finished as they come in.
