F M Glasses is out in Village-Dholpura, right along the Agra Road. It is a bit different being out here instead of in the middle of a big city. The air is a little clearer, though the Agra Road brings in plenty of exhaust fumes from the long-distance trucks. Our shop is where we handle various types of glass work. We have large crates delivered every week, and we have to be very careful unloading them because the ground isn't perfectly flat. We spend our time cutting glass to size for people in the village and the surrounding areas. The tools we use are pretty basic, just hand cutters and some old grinding wheels. There is a lot of light that comes in through the front since we are right on the highway. We often see cows walking past the entrance or dogs sleeping in the shade of the building. It is a slow pace of life until a big order comes in, and then we are working late into the night by the light of a single bulb. The glass shards go into a big bin in the back, and we have to watch our feet. It is just a small village business, keeping things moving for the local folks who need a window fixed or a mirror made. The sunsets over the Agra Road can be quite something if you take a moment to look. But usually, we are just finishing up and getting ready to close for the night so we can go home.
