Aman Shoe Factory

Aman Shoe Factory is located at No. 13 on Ajmer Road in Baluganj. If you’ve ever been to this part of Agra, you know how busy it gets with all the shops and people. Our factory is an old building that’s been part of the street for a long time. You can hear the machines running from the sidewalk most days. It’s a constant rhythmic thumping that we’ve all grown accustomed to. Inside, it’s a mix of different smells—mostly glue, leather, and rubber. We make all sorts of footwear here. It isn't a high-tech facility with robots. It’s mostly people sitting at benches, stitching and cutting by hand or using old-fashioned presses. My father used to say that a good shoe takes time, and we still kind of live by that, even when we’re in a hurry. The walls are stained with years of work, and the floors are never quite clean no matter how much we sweep. We have piles of soles in one corner and rolls of lining in another. It’s cramped and a bit messy, but we know where everything is. We don’t spend money on marketing or fancy logos. People know we are here because of the quality of the work we put out. It’s just a group of us making shoes the way we were taught by those who came before us. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from morning until dark. Most days we are just trying to keep up.
