We’ve been running Asian Shoes out of No. 46 North Idgah Colony for quite a long time now. It’s not a huge place, just a regular shop where we keep all kinds of footwear stacked up on the shelves. Most days it’s just us here, moving boxes around and helping people find something that actually fits their feet comfortably. It gets a bit crowded in the afternoons when the local families come by, especially during the school season when everyone needs new black shoes or white sneakers for gym class. We try to keep things simple. There isn’t any fancy decor or air conditioning that works all that well, but the shoes are decent and they last a while if you take care of them. My brother handles the stock while I mostly talk to the customers who walk through the door. Sometimes the sizes are a bit tricky, but we usually find a pair tucked away in the back room if we look hard enough through the old crates. Living and working in Idgah Colony means we know most of the neighbors. We aren't trying to be some big corporate brand or anything like that. We just sell shoes to people who need them for work or school. It's a lot of standing around and lifting heavy boxes, but it's what we know how to do. Some days are slow, and we just sit outside on the wooden bench for a bit. That's just how it goes here.
