Our place is on the Bye Pass Road, near the Lawyers Colony at M-809. It’s a busy spot with trucks and cars zooming by all day. We spend our time making footwear, which is a lot more complicated than it looks. There’s the cutting of the materials, the stitching, and then getting the soles attached properly. The smell of glue and leather is pretty much constant in our building. We have a small group of workers who are quite good with their hands. It’s not an automated factory where everything is done by robots. A lot of the work is still done using old machines and manual effort. We don’t have a big corporate office or a marketing department. We just have a small room where we keep the samples and talk to people who drop by. Sometimes the power goes out, or we run low on a specific type of thread, and everything slows down for a bit. We don't make a big deal about it; we just find a way to get things moving again. It’s a regular business run by regular people. We aren't looking to be the most famous shoe makers in the country. We just want to produce decent footwear that people can actually use. Our days are long and often tiring, but there’s a good feeling when a shipment is finally packed and ready to go to the customer.
