Ethica Handloom and Handicrafts is located over on L. N. Bari Road in the Banamalipur area. We are quite close to the Ramthakur Ashram, which is a good landmark if you are trying to find the place for the first time. The building is right there on L.N. Bari Road and it usually has a bit of a traditional feel to it. Inside, we have all kinds of handloom items and local handicrafts that people from the area and beyond come to look at. It’s a place that smells like raw cotton and dye sometimes. We have shelves filled with different fabrics and handmade goods that show the work of local weavers. It’s not like those big modern malls; it feels more like a workshop or a traditional store. The staff here knows a lot about how these things are made, even if we don't always have everything perfectly organized on the shelves. Sometimes things get a bit dusty, but that’s just part of working with these kinds of materials. Banamalipur is a nice neighborhood, and being near the Ashram gives the whole area a bit of a calm vibe, even when the road gets busy with rickshaws and pedestrians. We spend our days sorting through new stock and talking to people who appreciate the feel of something made by hand. It’s slow work compared to factory stuff, but we prefer it this way.
