Banzara

Banzara is located inside Hotel Somraj Regency which is right on Hari Ganga Basak Road in Agartala. If you know the area near Swasti Bazar you probably walked past us a dozen times without thinking much about it. It’s a busy part of town and there is always noise from the street coming in through the front doors. We handle the food for the hotel guests and people coming in from the market. It gets pretty frantic during the lunch hour because everyone is in a hurry to get back to their shops or offices. The kitchen is small and sometimes we run out of things early if the market supply was short that morning. Working in a hotel setting means we have to stay open pretty late for the people checking in at night. The staff here has been around for a few years and we all know how the stove likes to act up when it’s raining outside. It’s just a normal place where we cook what people want to eat. We don’t have a big sign or anything but people find us anyway since we are right there in the regency. Agartala can be a bit quiet on some days but Hari Ganga Basak Road usually stays moving until late at night. We just keep the lights on and wait for whoever comes through the door looking for a meal or a place to sit. It works for us and our neighbors.
