Vignesh Cotton Oil Industries

Vignesh Cotton Oil Industries is situated on Sonari Road in Kubeer. It’s right there in the village and mandal area. We deal with cotton seeds and the oil that comes out of them. It is a seasonal kind of business so some months are much busier than others. When the harvest comes in, the place is full of activity and people. You can smell the seeds being processed from a good distance away. It’s a heavy smell, kind of earthy. The machinery we use is big and takes a lot of maintenance to keep it running right. We spend a lot of time cleaning out the filters and checking the presses. It is a very dusty environment. Most of us here grew up in or around Kubeer so we know the local farmers well. They bring their carts and trucks down Sonari Road to the gates. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone like that. We just focus on the production. The office is just a small room with a desk and some old ledgers. We prefer it that way. It’s a simple operation really. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to fix them ourselves because getting a technician out to the village takes too long. We just get on with it. It’s a decent life and it keeps the community moving. We’ve been at this spot for many years and know the business.
