Ravinder Kirana Shops

My shop, Ravinder Kirana Shops, is located right in the middle of Indira Market here in Kagaznagar. I’ve been here for a long time now. It’s a typical kirana store where we stock all the basic things families need for their kitchens. You’ll find rice, dals, oils, and some snacks on the shelves. The market gets very crowded, especially in the mornings when everyone comes out to buy their groceries. My space isn't very large so things are stacked pretty high up to the ceiling. It can be a bit dusty sometimes because of all the bags and the street outside, but that’s just how it is in the market. I handle most of the work myself, though sometimes a family member helps out when it gets really busy. I know most of the people who come in by their names because they’ve been shopping here for years. We don't have any fancy displays or computer systems. I just write things down or remember them. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. Sometimes a bag of sugar might tear or we run out of something popular, but we get more stock soon enough. People come to me because I'm right here in the Indira Market and they know what to expect. It’s a busy, noisy place but it’s home to me and my business. We just keep going every day, serving whoever walks through the door. I usually stay open until the sun goes down and the market starts to quiet down a bit.
