Sujon Agro-Marketing is located over on Ekdilsah Road in the Kajipara area of North 24 Parganas. Samsul Haque is the person who keeps everything running from our spot here. Being so close to Kolkata, it gets very busy and noisy with all the traffic and people moving around. We focus on the marketing side of agriculture, which basically means we spend our days trying to connect the stuff grown on the farms with the people who need to buy it in the city. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and writing down numbers in big ledgers. The office address is P/L-35/1040, but it is just a normal place where we keep our files and meet with people. Sometimes the city life feels a bit far from the actual dirt and crops, but we bridge that gap. We deal with a lot of different vendors and it can get pretty hectic when a big shipment is coming through. There are days when nothing seems to go right with the transport or the timing, but we just keep at it. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do our part in the agro chain and make sure the marketing side doesn't fall apart. It is a lot of hard work and the days are usually quite long, but that is just how the marketing business works around here.
