About Gungun Marines Private Limited – Agriculture & Farming in 24 Paraganas North
Over in Simuliapara, which is part of the Chandapara area under Gaighata, you will find Gungun Marines. We are set up at Rabindranath Hira’s place. Mostly, our days are about the water and what’s in it. We deal with fish and whatever else comes with marine work in this part of the district. It’s wet work, and we are usually wearing rubber boots or going barefoot when we have to get into the ponds. The sun gets really hot out here in the afternoons, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early. We aren't some big corporate group with a glass building. We are just a group of guys working in the village. Sometimes the nets get torn and we spend hours sitting in the shade trying to patch them up. It’s tedious but it has to be done if we want to get any work done the next day. The road to the village isn’t always the best, so getting supplies in can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We just deal with it as it comes. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to answer the phones with a fancy greeting. Usually, if you want us, you just come down to Simuliapara and look for the ponds. We are probably there working on something or talking about the next harvest. It’s a simple life.
