You can find us at AD-111 in Krishanpur, over in the Rabindrapally area. Our office is in a building called Loknath Bhawan, which is a well-known spot around Prafullakanan. This part of North Parganas is always moving. We deal with spices and food, so our workspace usually has a very strong, peppery smell that hits you as soon as you walk in. It is not a shiny, modern office. We have simple wooden furniture and a lot of bags and containers sitting around. We spend most of our time checking the spices and making sure the packaging is done right. The area outside is quite dusty because of all the construction and traffic, but inside we try to keep things as clean as possible. We don't have a big fancy sign outside, just a small one so people know they are in the right place. It’s a lot of manual work and keeping track of different batches. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat for a minute. We are just regular people working in the spice trade. We don't use any big words or complicated systems. It’s all about the smell, the taste, and getting the food out to the markets on time. Our days are long, but we are used to the pace of life here in Krishanpur. There is always something that needs to be packed or labeled before the sun goes down. It is just the way we have always done things.
