Zad General Store

If you are looking for Zad General Store, we are right at 89 Guruwar Peth in Satara. It’s a pretty busy street, especially in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. The shop has been here for a good while. We keep a bit of everything on the shelves, from snacks and soaps to basic household things people might have forgotten to buy at the bigger market. It’s not a huge place, so things can get a bit cramped when we get a delivery of crates. I usually spend most of my time behind the counter or restocking the biscuits. Satara is a nice town, and being in Guruwar Peth means we see a lot of the same faces every day. We know who likes which brand of tea and who is going to complain about the price of sugar this week. The door squeaks a bit when it's humid, and the light in the back flickers sometimes, but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. It’s just me and a couple of others helping out. We don’t have a website or any of those modern things. We just open the shutters in the morning and close them when it gets dark. It's a straightforward way to earn a living. You get to hear all the local gossip while you're weighing out grain or bagging up some sweets for the kids.
