Amrut Cattlefeed

Out here in Village Paldi, things move a bit slower than in the city. Our place at number 43 is where we keep the cattle feed stocks. You’ll usually smell the grain and mix before you even see the gate. Farmers from nearby come by with their tractors or sometimes just a cart to pick up what they need for their livestock. We spend a lot of time moving bags around and checking the quality of the raw materials coming in. It’s dusty work, and your clothes usually end up covered in fine powder by noon. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. We talk about the rain, the crops, and how the cows are doing while we load up the bags. It’s not a complicated business. We just try to keep enough stock so nobody goes home empty-handed. Sometimes the delivery truck gets delayed because of the narrow village roads, but we manage to work around it. There’s a small desk in the corner for keeping notes, but most of the real work happens in the storage area. It gets quiet in the evenings once the last customer heads back to their farm. We close up the big doors and get ready to do it all again the next day. It’s a quiet life, but it suits us fine being out here in the village. We just do our bit to keep the animals fed and the farmers happy.
