Up in Lingampally Village, Kowdipally Mandal, we have our poultry farm. It is situated at H No 18/61/2 in the Medak district of Telangana. If you ever visit, the first thing you notice is the noise. Hundreds of birds all chirping and clucking at once can be quite a lot if you aren't used to it. We spend our whole day feeding them, checking the water lines, and making sure the temperature inside the sheds is okay. It gets really hot in this part of Telangana, so we have to be careful the birds don't get overheated. It is a messy job, there is no way around that. You end up with feathers on your clothes and the smell of the coop stays with you. We don't have a big corporate office; our office is basically just a small desk near the entrance of the shed. We keep track of everything in a simple ledger. It is a family-run kind of thing, so everyone chips in when there is a big delivery or when we need to clean out the whole space. It is constant work because the birds need care every single day, no matter what happens. We have been in Medak for a long time and know the local market pretty well. It is a steady life, even if it is a bit loud and dusty most of the time. We just try to keep things running.
