Farmer Chilly

Starts at H. No: 10-199 in Vekatrampuram. It’s a quiet spot in the Bayyaram mandal. Around here, everyone knows us as Farmer Chilly. We spend most of our time out in the fields or sitting on the porch. The Khammam heat is something else, but it’s what the chillies need to grow right. We don't have a big office or a team of people. It’s just us doing the work ourselves. We handle the planting, the picking, and then the drying process right in the yard. It gets very red and dusty during the harvest season. My hands are usually stained from the peppers. We’ve been in this house for many years now. It’s a simple life. We don't bother with fancy machines or big business plans. We just look at the sky and hope for enough rain. Sometimes the pests are a problem, so we have to stay on top of that. People from the nearby villages come by to see what we’ve got. We don't do much talking, just show them the stock. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise till the sun goes down. Vekatrampuram isn't on many maps, but it’s home to us. We just keep doing what we know. The house is easy to find if you're coming through the mandal. We aren't hard to spot.
