In February, Wholesale Inflation Rise by 2.93%
Inflation based on wholesale prices rose 2.93 percent in the previous month to February, according to the government data released on Thursday due to the hardening of primary articles, fuel and power prices.
In January 2019, wholesale price-based inflation was 2.76 percent.
WPI inflation was 2.74 percent during February 2018.
Inflation of primary commodities, which includes kitchen utensils such as potatoes, onions, fruits, and milk, increased by 4.84% during the month, which was against 3.54 in January.
WPI data shows that wholesale price inflation in February increased by 2.23 percent in February to 1.85 percent in January 2019.
Reserve Bank, which has a predominantly retail inflation-dependent consumer price index (CPI), reduced its key lending rate by 0.25 percent in February.
