Ganesh Electricals

Our shop is number 637, right there near the Ambala Chandigarh Highway. People often say it twice when they give directions, but once you see the sign you can’t miss us. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular electrical store we’ve had for some years. Being so close to the highway means it gets really dusty every single day, so I spend a lot of my morning just wiping down the switches and fans. We carry basic stuff like wiring, light bulbs, and those little items people always forget they need until something breaks at home. Some days it is very quiet and I just sit here watching the trucks go past towards Chandigarh. Other times, three people walk in at once and they all want something different. My cousin helps me out sometimes when he isn't busy with his own work. We don't have a big computer system or anything, just an old ledger where we write things down. The shelves are a bit cramped because we try to keep a lot of stock in a small space. It takes a minute to find the right fuse or socket if it's tucked in the back. The tea stall next door is where I get my morning chai, and usually, the neighbors stop by to chat about the weather or the traffic. It's just a small local business trying to keep things moving. We open up early and usually stay until the sun goes down. I often wonder how many people pass by this highway every day.
