Our place is up in Flat B11/403 at Nirmal Chhaya Towers. It’s a bit different being in a tower instead of a storefront, but it works for us. We spend most of our time looking at small stones and working with gold. Zirakpur has grown a lot, and we've seen it change from our windows. We started this because we had a knack for the craft. It's quiet up here, which is good for the kind of work we do. You need focus for diamonds. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the trade. Sometimes clients come by to see what we're working on. We keep our tools tidy, though the desk gets cluttered with sketches sometimes. It’s not a big corporate office. We just drink tea and get to work. Most days are spent checking quality and making sure everything looks right. We’ve been here long enough that the guards downstairs know us well. It's a steady job. We like the precision of it. People ask why we aren't in a mall, but we prefer the peace of Nirmal Chhaya. It feels more personal this way. We just do our thing and stay busy with the orders that come in. It’s honest work and keeps us occupied. We have some old loupes that belonged to our fathers. We like the history of the trade. Sometimes we stay late when a piece is almost finished and the light is still good.
