Silver Silks

Silver Silks has its shop at 10 Vitthal Nagar, right along the Aurangabad Road in Nasik. We have been selling sarees and various silk fabrics here for a long time. The location is pretty easy to find if you are driving toward the main highway. Inside, the shelves are stacked high with different rolls of cloth and finished pieces. It is mostly a family affair, with my cousins and me taking turns at the counter. We get a lot of people stopping by on their way out of the city. The dust from the road can be a bit much sometimes, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass. We aren't a big showroom with air conditioning and fancy lights. It is more of a traditional place where you can sit down and look at the fabric properly. We try to stock colors that people actually want to wear for weddings or local festivals. Sometimes the stock takes a while to arrive from the weavers, but we try to keep things moving. Customers usually come in knowing exactly what they need, or they spend an hour looking through every single pile we have. We don’t mind either way. It’s just how business goes in Nasik. If you are looking for the shop, look for the Vitthal Nagar signboards near the petrol pump. We are right there on the ground floor.
