Hotel Amritsar Punjabi

Hotel Amritsar Punjabi is situated out on Jalna Road in a small place called Shekta. This is on the way out of Aurangabad. If you are driving on the highway, you’ll see our sign. It’s a typical roadside spot. We call it Punjabi because that’s the style of food we like to make—heavy on the butter and big portions that keep you full for a long drive. The building is just a simple concrete structure with a lot of parking space in front for trucks and cars. We don't have air conditioning in the main seating area because people prefer the natural air, even if it’s a bit warm. There are some big wooden cots outside too where people can sit if they don't want to use the tables. It’s a bit rough around the edges. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we spend more time in the kitchen than worrying about the decor. We get a lot of regular drivers who stop here every time they pass through Shekta. They know us by name. We don't have a printed menu that changes. We just make the same few things every day and make sure they taste right. It gets very quiet late at night, except for the sound of trucks zooming past on the highway. We stay open pretty late though, just in case someone is hungry and needs a place to stop for an hour.
