Working from the Umanchl Working Women Hostel area here in Pune is a bit different than a typical office block. Being in Maharashtra, especially in a city like Pune, means there is always a lot of movement and energy nearby. Rajendra Gadkari Asso. is located right in the thick of it. The morning commute through the local streets can be a bit of a scramble sometimes. We spend most of our hours inside the office space handling whatever comes across the desk that day. The building has its own character and the people around are always busy with their own routines. It is not the quietest spot in town, but it keeps us on our toes. We have a few desks set up and the shelves are mostly filled with binders and reference books we need for our work. Sometimes the internet is a bit slow, or the power flickers, but that is just part of living and working here. We usually grab lunch from one of the small spots nearby or bring something from home to eat while we talk about the day’s tasks. It is a straightforward setup without any bells or whistles. People know where to find us if they need to drop off a letter or have a quick chat about a project. The sun hits the front of the building in the late afternoon, making it quite warm until the evening breeze kicks in.
