Mukkawar Provision And Gift Center is located on the main road in Holetek Pura. We have been here in Gandhinagar serving the locals for a long time. It’s a mix of things in our shop. On one side we have daily provisions like soap and snacks and on the other side we keep various gift items. It is the kind of place where you can pick up milk and also find a birthday present for a kid. We started out small and just added things as people asked for them. The shelves are quite full and sometimes it’s hard to find things if you don't know where they are. We usually know exactly where everything is kept though. The main road gets quite a lot of foot traffic especially in the evenings. We see a lot of families coming in. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. We talk to the customers about the weather or local news while we pack their bags. We don't have any fancy computers for billing, we just do it the old way. It’s more personal that way I think. The gift section has toys and some decorative items. We try to keep a variety so there is something for everyone. It is a bit cramped inside but that's just because we want to stock everything people might need. We just keep the door open and wait for neighbors.
