Hukim Chand Heeralal Nimodia & Co.

Our office is located at Balaji Chowk, right near the Yavatmal Railway Station. It is a busy spot, and you can always hear the trains pulling in and the whistles blowing throughout the day. The company has a long name, Hukim Chand Heeralal Nimodia & Co., because it has been passed down through the family for a long time. We don't really have a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It is an old building with high ceilings and heavy doors that creak when you open them. We deal with various trading goods and supplies that come through the railway. The floors are made of old stone, and they stay cold even when it is boiling outside in Yavatmal. We have a few old desks where we sit and do our paperwork. It is a lot of writing and filing things away in big steel cabinets. Sometimes people coming off the train wander in thinking we sell tickets or food, and we have to point them toward the station entrance. We know the other shopkeepers around Balaji Chowk quite well. We often share tea in the afternoons when things quiet down between train arrivals. It is a steady kind of work. We don't change much around here because the old ways of doing things seem to work just fine for us and our regulars who have known us for years. (249 words)
