Our office is set up in Mangalmurti Niwas, which is right in the Ambedkar Ward of Umarkhed. Most people know us because we are so close to the Mahadev Temple. We’ve been working out of this building for a while now, dealing with the financial needs of people in the neighborhood. It isn’t a huge operation, just a small office where we handle savings and some credit work for local families. We don’t have those fancy glass walls or polished floors you see in big city banks. It’s more of a place where you can sit down and talk without feeling rushed. We know most of our members by their first names because they live just down the street. Working in Umarkhed means we understand the local rhythm. We keep our records tidy and focus on the day-to-day tasks that keep a small Nidhi company running. Sometimes the tea runs out or the power goes for an hour, but that’s life in a small town. We just keep the ledger moving. It’s honest work, helping folks manage their bit of savings or get a small loan when they need it for something important. Being near the temple gives us a sense of place in the community.
