Shri Sagar Bangle Store

If you’re walking down Jagadhri Road, you’ll see Shri Sagar Bangle Store right across from the ICICI Bank. It’s a small shop but it’s packed from floor to ceiling with bangles of every color you can think of. We’ve got glass ones, metal ones, and some with little stones on them. The shop gets very bright when the sun hits all those colors. Most of our day is spent helping people match bangles to the outfits they bought for a wedding or a festival. It’s a lot of opening boxes and putting them back. Sometimes we drop a few and they break, which is just part of the job. It’s a busy street, so we get a lot of people just popping in while they are out doing their banking or other errands. We don't have a computer system or anything fancy; we just keep track of things in a big ledger book. The space is a bit tight, especially when a whole family comes in at once, but we have some stools for them to sit on. It’s a simple life, surrounded by shiny things and talking to neighbors. We’ve been on Jagadhri Road for a long time now and we know most of the people who walk past our door every day.
